Takeshi Yasuda Studio Pottery Tea Bowl Yunomi Signed. The Slipware and use of colour is different to his recent work involving sancai and three colour glazes (as my other Yasuda listings). This Yunomi is free from any chips, cracks or repairs. This work is early – this stamp was used on his work in the late 70’s and early eighties and is well recognised. An unusual large Mark Griffiths flat sided studio pottery lugged vase, with poured hoop glaze. A very primitive looking piece for Mark Griffiths so I’m guessing it may be an early creation? Height 27cm x 18cm. Condition: No chips, cracks or restoration, just some firing flaws.

Jane Hollidge Studio Pottery Large Raku Fired Slab Bottle Vase RARE Signed. A superb two piece set of raku by this highly respected British potter, comprising a vase and bowl. Bowl is signed to base. Coiling may be a technique dating back thousands of years however, Jane’s vessels are strikingly contemporary. Her immaculate finishing and brilliant use of colour secure her place in contemporary ceramics. Born in Essex, Jane moved to Cambridge in 1962 and opened her own workshop 3 years later. Over the years she has developed her own personal style in ceramic art and painting. She has been a professional ceramicist for over 20 years. She has developed a reputation as an artist creating large abstract paintings which have an emphasis on bright contrasting colours. Jane’s hand-built pots also reflect her joy of using colour and are decorated using a similar exuberant palette. Her pots are fired in an electric kiln to a high earthenware but below stoneware temperatures and a vast majority of her work is decorative rather than domestic or functional.
