Chris Carter British b. An outstanding, exhibition quality, porcelain vase. The huge vessel standing some 57cms tall and covered in a deep, high-gloss tenmoku style glaze, with brushed highlights in iron. Beautifully fashioned, the body slab-sided or’paddled’ and skilfully’compressed’ into a slightly wrythen form. The upper rim slightly oval. The foot unglazed, revealing the white porcelain. Potter’s impressed mark to the underside. Fresh to market, this is a knockout vase that would grace any higher-end studio pottery collection. The piece has great presence and would look superb on display in a MCM interior or similar. The Peter Dingley Gallery was, at the time, one of the most important and celebrated venues in the UK for the exhibition and sale of high-end studio pottery, art and craft. It is not surprising that this fine and impressive vase was exhibited there. No damage or repairs. All items are packed with care, to a high standard and sent via tracked and signed for courier. A very large Derek Clarkson studio pottery vase, dating from the 1960s/70s. Derek Clarkson started potting at his Rossendale pottery, Lancashire in the early 50s. By this time he was experimenting with crystaline glaze effects. He estimated that he made this pot in the mid 1960s. Potter’s mark “DC” to the edge of the foot. Derek Clarkson died in 2013. Measures approx 26.3 cm (10 3/8) high. Overall excellent vintage condition with no faults at all. P lease see photos for condition. An Impressive Michael Rice Raku Fired Vase. A large and very heavy work by modern artist Michael Rice, who now resides in Dubai. His pieces rarely come up for sale. Dark clay covered in a white crackle glaze. Incised signature to the foot. Balanced well to sit on the small foot. Dimensions are approx 45cm (17.75 inches) high and 25cm (10 inches) wide. This is a very impressive Trevor Corser vase. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or crackle to the glaze. Please see all the photographs. There is the odd small firing flaw as pictured. The one on the underside of the rim looks like a small chip but it does have a little glaze in it. It is very hard to spot and does not detract. The vase measures 10″ in height an 8″ in diameter. Please take the time to view the other items in my shop as there are often similar ones to this in stock. A Huge Robin Welch Footed Bowl. A very large footed bowl brushed in earthy brown and pinkish white with a bronze lusture to the inside. “RW” lozenge applied to the underside. Approx 23cm (9 inches) tall and 37cm (14 inches) across the rim on one side and 35cm (13.75 inches) wide the other side of the rim. In perfect original condition.
