Intriguing pair of Tony Laverick vases in Black, Gold and Copper tones. These were a house warming gift from my Grandmother. I’ve since relocated and I’ve no longer anywhere fitting for them to be displayed. All Tony Laverick work is handmade and not reproduced. Hence they all have their own unique characteristics. As such, these vases are not identical in hues/tones/patterns or saturations. Additionally, please note that no products have been used on these to clean them. Only a damp cloth has ever been used to wipe them. Neither have either vase ever been used to host water/flowers. I’ve actually found them to be extremely striking just by themselves, without any need for flowers in them; especially when struck with the sun. I’ve photographed them at sun set, so in order to capture different depths of the vases colours and patterns as they appear different depending on how much exposure they have to light. For information on the very respected Tony Laverick, please see his website where a list of collections he is a part of is available. As well as, the galleries globally in which he sells his limited works at. Each vase measures at APPROXIMATELY: 6″ high, 4″ wide at the widest point and a 2 diameter at the base. I don’t have the original packaging and so it will be sent in bubble wrap and newspapers. Will consider respectable offers.

Pair of Bretby Art Nouveau Pottery Wall Plates/Chargers with Geisha Scenes – 1880s. We are proud to offer these beautiful circular earthenware plaques by Bretby, probably designed by Henry Tooth. With applied details possibly hand-worked and hand-painted, decorated Japonesme in black with applied Chrysanthemums and butterflies painted in gold and red. The border of both also in black with an Art Nouveau designed border. There is a very similar example in the Victoria & Albert museum, London with a slight difference on the border. They are both in mirror image. Impressed marks Bretby and the number 1478. One with a hairline of 4cm on the border on the underside which cannot be seen from the frontside, but has been filled. The other in perfect condition. No chips or restorations – very rare to see a pair together, the museum example mentioned earlier is a single example. A colourful pair of Doulton Lambeth’Faience’ vases hand-painted with berries and foliage, and a greek key pattern to the foot. Dated 1877 The bases stamped with various insignia and assistant’s stamp’W’. Both in superb display condition, free from damage or restoration, save for one small rim repair (see 8th image). “Pair” one bigger one smaller signed studio art ceramic dished bowls by listed Canadian Quebec potter painter Guy Ouvrard. Signed and dated early 1970’s. One of the Founder’s of the Quebec Arts and Crafts movement and community. Great Mid Century Modern original works. Measured side to side rather than on the diagonal, smaller dished plate is about 9.25″ X 7″ X 1.75 tall at highest end. Larger work is about 10.25″ X 10.75″ X 2 tall at highest corner. Very fine previously owned works with no issues that I can see. Guy Ouvrard Biography details also welcome.
