Raku Handmade Vessel 2009 Brown/Beige. Stunningly beautiful and tactile, beautiful piece. Excellent condition, no chips or marks. Marked FRAN 2009 Raku on the underside. The Raku technique is essentially. When glazed ceramics are taken from the kiln while they are still glowing red hot and are then placed in a material that would be able to catch fire, such as sawdust or newspaper. This technique is used to starve the piece of oxygen, which creates a myriad of colours within the glaze. 26cm x 22cm x 7cm. Weight 1.6 kilograms.
