Magnificent Signed Tenmoku Glaze Ribbed Studio Pottery Vase c1950 50s Signature. Offered here is a MAGNIFICENT TENMOKU GLAZE STUDIO POTTERY VASE. This is signed and dates to around 1950. The piece stands 6.25 inches tall and is 6.5 inches across its diameter. I cant read the SIGNATURE clearly but it appears to be Sylvia Watts or Wills, this is incised into the foot. This has a wonderful tenmoku glaze and the top is lightly ribbed. There is a band about a third of the way down where the glaze changes, this extends to the top of the narrow foot. The foot itself is not glazed. The entire piece is a fabulous shape, it has a super design and the glaze is stunning. This has been skilfully made and is heavily influenced by Japanese Pottery. I dont have the facility to research this but I do feel that this is a special piece. I have however only priced it as a nice piece of studio ware. This really is a good quality piece and I believe it will have been made by an esteemed potter. This is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. It will appeal to those interested in STUDIO POTTERY and DECORATIVE ARTS pieces. Dont miss this opportunity, GRAB YOURSELF A BARGAIN. Incredible Genuine Tenmoku Pottery Studio Vase -never used and still has original packaging inside. Fantastic quality small production run studio pottery with phenomenal Sea Theme including 2 seahorses on each side and wonderful sea themed colours. Has the beautiful origina Malaysian Handicraft Tenmoku Pottery sticker and the Tenmoku Pottery stamp underneath. A little over 24cm tall and 11.6cm wide at the widest point at the bottom. Top is 6.8cm wide at the widest point and inside hole is 5.2cm x 3cm. Wonderful, heavy weight at 859g. This is a stunning quality vase – you will not be disappointed. The colours are even more beautiful in person and the quality is phenomenal – far better than the vast majority of ceramic today. Due to the small nature of the Tenmoku Pottery studio, this was a very limited run so you are unlikely to find another similar one, and I only have one available like this so once it’s gone it’s gone.
