This specific vase is a trial piece, designed between 2004 / 2010 Designed by Emma Bossoms, this Short-lived, artistic brand allowed Moorcroft designers to experiment with more contemporary and sometimes more exotic palates.

A substantial and decorative studio pottery vase attributed to William Fishley Holland, one of the most respected names associated with the North Devon pottery tradition. The vase is finished in a rich green glaze and features a carved and incised band of repeating stylised leaf motifs around the shoulder. The elegant baluster form and restrained decoration reflect the Arts & Crafts influences that remained central to Fishley Holland’s work throughout the mid-20th century. Stunning Mike Dodd studio pottery lidded storage jar with incised pattern. Mike Dodd famously experiments with all sorts of ingredients for his glazes. Not sure what this is excactly but it has a pale grey/blue colour. Sadly he no longer pots so his stoneware will gradually become increasingly sort after in the coming years. In perfect condition Height approx 21cm x 18cm in width.

A stoneware slab built vase with slopping shoulders on four small raised feet with a turned mouth. H 10.75 inch, W 8.775 inch, D 3.25 inch Salt and ash glaze finish in perfect condition and clearly signed. This is from the same firing as one shown, on the opening page, opposite the title page of Phil Rogers seminal work, Salt Glazing. I can only assume that as he placed the pot from this firing first in his book he rated it.

An eye-catching floral vase by Shelton studio pottery. This is a large vase with equally large and dramatic blue clematis floral decorations covering it. The decoration was hand painted by Valerie Shelton who has signed it on the base, whilst the pot itself was thrown and made by her husband Ken Shelton. The blue flowers feature hints of pink with yellow centres and are surrounded by green leaves. The dynamic brush strokes give it a real sense of life and movement. This vase would brighten up any room and is a stunning piece of craftmanship. This is a vintage item and so may show signs of its previous life. Overall the vase is in excellent condition with no obvious chips, cracks or crazing. It is approximately 30cm in height and 15cm in diameter. The opening is approximately 6.5cm in diameter.
