Beautiful vintage studio pottery bowl and small matching post vase. Has the impressed mark and seal mark for Martin Silber of Harpenden. I can find very little online regarding this maker although his obituary notice was in a studio pottery magazine/newsletter in 1994. Very stylish pink and white body with bronzed base and rim. Very much in the style of Lucie Rie. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The bowl sings when rubbed around the rim. The bowl measures 8.25″ in diameter and 3″ tall. The vase is 6 tall.

Besides many shows in the UK, Jill has had 46 exhibitions of her ceramics in Japan including 11 solo shows at Keio Department Store Gallery, Shinjuku, Tokyo. She has also exhibited in Korea, China, New Zealand, France, Spain and the USA. Her work is in the collections of Mashiko Museum if Ceramic Art, Japan, Yokohama National University (mural), Japan, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Wales, Escuela de Arte Talavera, (Spain), Nature in Art Museum, Gloucestershire and many international collections. Jill has lectured and demonstrated widely and for 17 years taught on the ceramics course at Goldsmiths college.

Lovely vase with signs of age. Scratches on base and inside middle. No chips or cracks. Slightly off clear colour as seen in photo with more modern glass.

Beautiful vase by renowned potter Mike Dodd. I bought this around 2005 from a colleague of Mike’s who then got Mike to authenticate it because the glaze has run over and mostly obscured the potter’s mark (see second photo). However if you search his pots online and look in online galleries you’ll see it’s definitely his work. 16cm high and 11cm wide.
