Up for sale is a beautiful authentic piece of contemporary British studio pottery. This elegant vase is thrown from a heavily grogged clay body to withstand thermal shock, featuring a classic globular form with a distinctive ribbed collar at the rim. This piece would have been finished using traditional Raku reduction firing techniques. It showcases a stunning, earthy surface texture with dramatic smoky charcoal carbon trap markings (fire clouds) contrasting against subtle bronze, copper and orange undertones. It is clearly stamped with the artists definitive impressed W monogram on the unglazed base. This piece is in excellent vintage condition. No major cracks, restorations, or structural damage. The rim and base show the expected course rustic texture inherent to the raku firing process. Please study the photos closely as they form part of the description.

A Bruce Chivers Studio Art Pottery vase with a lustre Raku glaze. It has a height of 6.4 ins (162 mm) and a width across the shoulders of 4 ins (101 mm). The glaze has a lovely lustre finish with coppery tones. Bruce Chivers’ seal mark is stamped on the base. The vase is in very good condition, free from damage. A stylish and exellent quality Studio Art Pottery Raku glaze vase which would make a very welcome addition to anyone’s collection.

Beautiful vintage studio pottery bowl and small matching post vase. Has the impressed mark and seal mark for Martin Silber of Harpenden. I can find very little online regarding this maker although his obituary notice was in a studio pottery magazine/newsletter in 1994. Very stylish pink and white body with bronzed base and rim. Very much in the style of Lucie Rie. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The bowl sings when rubbed around the rim. The bowl measures 8.25″ in diameter and 3″ tall. The vase is 6 tall.

Lovely vase with signs of age. Scratches on base and inside middle. No chips or cracks. Slightly off clear colour as seen in photo with more modern glass.
