Vintage Troika Cornwall studio pottery small cube vase / pot. A moulded ceramic piece with textured decoration to the top and hand-painted marks to the base reading “Troika Cornwall” along with the decorator initials “PB”, attributed to Troika decorator Penny Black. Troika pottery was produced in Cornwall between 1962 and 1983 and is well known for its distinctive modernist designs and textured finishes. Each piece was moulded but individually decorated, making examples slightly unique. Good vintage condition with age-related wear. Please see photos for overall condition. A hand-thrown studio pottery vase by Anita Harris, from her distinctive Black Ryden range. This sculptural vase features a rich oxblood red upper glaze flowing into layered tones of black, ash grey, and earthy ochre toward the foot. The surface shows classic Black Ryden characteristics, with subtle glaze breaks and kiln-driven movement creating depth and visual tension. The form is confident and architectural, rising from a flared base to a rounded shoulder and narrow neck. The base is clearly signed and marked, confirming authenticity. A striking hand-thrown studio pottery bowl by Anita Harris, finished in her celebrated Black Ryden glaze. The piece features a rich oxblood red body layered with smoky black and ash-cream breaks, with subtle blue pooling at the rim. The glaze has real depth and movement, changing with the light and giving the surface a volcanic, almost geological quality. Thrown with assurance and fired in reduction, this bowl balances strength with refinement. It is signed to the base AH, numbered 62, and bears the impressed ANITA HARRIS / ENGLAND mark. A serious example of modern British studio pottery, and a strong display piece either alone or as part of a curated ceramics collection. The poet in me would say It looks like something lifted from the earth rather than made by hand. Red like iron in the kiln, black like smoke that never quite settled. John Leach Muchelney Studio Pottery Stoneware Black Mood Jug. Saggar fired with sawdust, which is what gives the paler, contrasting colour. 14cm tall and 30cm in circumference at its widest point. Muchelney stamp, John’s personal stamp and dated to base 1990. The contrast between the two colours is dependent on the chemical reaction during firing.
