This is an authentic hand-blown studio art glass vase crafted by British artist Siddy Langley, dated 2001. The vase has a small bulbous body that tapers up into a long, slender flared neck. The top half and neck feature a highly reflective metallic gold and blue-green iridescent lustre finish. The bottom half is decorated with horizontal swirling bands of cobalt blue and white over a pale aqua glass body. The bottom edge of the vase is hand-signed and dated by the artist, reading as Siddy Langley 2001. The base is designed with a stable, curved outer edge that allows it to stand securely. The center of the base features a recessed, unpolished pontil mark from the glassmaking process. Condition This is a pre-owned vintage item in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or deep scratches on the glass. The top rim is smooth and intact, and the indented base is clean and stable. Bold and highly sculptural vintage studio pottery vase featuring an architectural, Brutalist-inspired form. This statement ceramic piece is constructed with multiple tubular vessels joined together and accented with raised geometric and circular appliqué details, giving it a strong tactile and industrial-modern presence. Finished in a deep charcoal/black glaze with intentional raw clay exposure, the contrast highlights the hand-built nature and texture of the work. Thrown on the wheel and finished with a wire-cut base, this piece retains a small central throwing scar, a deliberate mark of hand production typical of early French studio pottery. The base is smooth and unground, with an impressed stylised’B’ mark beneath the glaze. The form is tall and confident, with sinuous pulled loop handles creating a strong vertical rhythm. The glaze is a deep, inky cobalt blue with warm ochre breaks and granular texture, suggesting a reduction-fired, high-iron glaze characteristic of central French studio work, likely within the Puisaye or Burgundy tradition. This is not Vallauris or factory ware, but an honest, sculptural studio piece from a skilled potter working in the inter-war period. Details. Origin: France. Date: c.
