Magnificent Signed Tenmoku Glaze Ribbed Studio Pottery Vase c1950 50s Signature. Offered here is a MAGNIFICENT TENMOKU GLAZE STUDIO POTTERY VASE. This is signed and dates to around 1950. The piece stands 6.25 inches tall and is 6.5 inches across its diameter. I cant read the SIGNATURE clearly but it appears to be Sylvia Watts or Wills, this is incised into the foot. This has a wonderful tenmoku glaze and the top is lightly ribbed. There is a band about a third of the way down where the glaze changes, this extends to the top of the narrow foot. The foot itself is not glazed. The entire piece is a fabulous shape, it has a super design and the glaze is stunning. This has been skilfully made and is heavily influenced by Japanese Pottery. I dont have the facility to research this but I do feel that this is a special piece. I have however only priced it as a nice piece of studio ware. This really is a good quality piece and I believe it will have been made by an esteemed potter. This is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. It will appeal to those interested in STUDIO POTTERY and DECORATIVE ARTS pieces. Dont miss this opportunity, GRAB YOURSELF A BARGAIN.
