A John Beusman Carn Pottery Picture chimney stack mine Vase, beautifully crafted studio pottery piece made in Cornwall. This decorative vase features abstract sgraffito pattern designs all around, and a circular blue geometric on the other. Handmade with a matte finish, this ceramic vase is a unique vintage addition to any home decor or Carn collection. Please see photos for condition and detailing. It is in an excellent vintage condition, although the makers stamp has faded, it’s unmistakably Beusmans’ work. Measures 14.5 cm in height by 10.5 cm in width be 4 cm deep. RARE Vintage Carn pottery red spot chimney vase of the 1970s era, the vase as a geometric design with a matte greyish green ground with flashes of blue, with a large glazed red spot adorning the front area. The vase stands 13cm. The base as the Carn pottery printed mark. And the signature of John Beusman founder of the pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. It as been brought to my attention regard my interpretation of crazing, regard the red spot on the the photos it looks as though the red spot as crazing but it my opinion that is the the way the decorative red spot area is supposed to be, as the crackled effect is within the glaze. Here we have a fab, unusual studio pottery chimney vase. I do not know much about this at all unfortunately, I would imagine it’s from the 60’s or 70’s, British, possibly Cornish. No makers marks but it’s a wonderful thing. It has a really unusual shape and style, quite space agey-ufo like. It has a washed white glaze with a pop of green which has been allowed to drip down creating a lovely abstract design. It has two chimneys which are all part of the main vase, not just added decoration, it has a spikey edge that is quite fish fin like and it stands on two rounded feet. A wonderful, unusual piece, perfect for an interior designer looking for an individual look. This would also make a nice addition to any mid century inspired home, or a collector of studio pottery. It measures approximately 12.5 inches by 4.5 inches by 3.75 inches weighing just under 1.5kg’s. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
