Wonderful Moorcroft studio pottery plate, richly decorated in the Clematis pattern. Hand-painted, vibrant, and unmistakably Moorcroft. Dating from the mid-20th century and signed in blue with Walter Moorcroft’s initials. Clematis is a much-loved, elegant and increasingly rare commodity in Moorcroft’s storied catalogue. The floral design flows naturally, with subtle depth in the glaze that only hand-crafted pieces have. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The expected faint vintage crazing is visible on the reverse, yet almost undetectable on the display face of the piece. Perfect for display, a cabinet or a curated collection. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description. This will be carefully packed and posted promptly with full tracking. I endeavour to accurately describe and photograph any flaws I detect in the interests of transparency. An eye-catching floral vase by Shelton studio pottery. This is a large vase with equally large and dramatic blue clematis floral decorations covering it. The decoration was hand painted by Valerie Shelton who has signed it on the base, whilst the pot itself was thrown and made by her husband Ken Shelton. The blue flowers feature hints of pink with yellow centres and are surrounded by green leaves. The dynamic brush strokes give it a real sense of life and movement. This vase would brighten up any room and is a stunning piece of craftmanship. This is a vintage item and so may show signs of its previous life. Overall the vase is in excellent condition with no obvious chips, cracks or crazing. It is approximately 30cm in height and 15cm in diameter. The opening is approximately 6.5cm in diameter. Mid-century Moorcroft Clematis pattern vase on a green ground which changes into navy blue at the base. The inside is also navy blue. It is 5 1/4” (13.5 cm) high and is in good vintage condition. The vase has impressed MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND to the base along with a hand painted 5. I will pack carefully and post free and tracked in the UK.
