Robin Welch oval shaped stoneware decorated vase covered in bronze, dark blue, pale turquoise and pale grey glaze separated by streaks of red and dark blue enamel. Bears Robin Welch impressed mark on the base as photographed. Very well respected and collected potter who passed away in 2019. In good condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. She attended at the Royal College of Art studying for two years under the tutelage of William Staite Murray. Ms Mommens then initially set up a pottery in Kent and then at Chiswick in London. As time passed she spent time at Winchcombe and Wenford Bridge working with Michael Cardew. By the 1950’s she was potting in Sussex eventually by the 1970’s with Chris Lewis. Ms Mommens continued producing pottery throughout her life well into her late 90’s. She passed away in 2010 aged 101 years. The bowl is ash glazed stoneware. It bears the clear impressed mark for Ursula in the centre of the footring. The decoration is a wax resist abstract decoration around the circumference of the bowl and the well on a blue / grey wash (ground). This bowl measures 14 cm in diameter and stands 6 cm high. It is in good condition without any chips, cracks or repairs. There are some small glaze misses just above the base ring where Ms Mommens held the bowl by the foot-ring to dip into the glaze.

Robin Welch decorated Yunomi (Japanese tea bowl) thick Hakeme (brushwork). Bears his impressed mark on the foot ring as photographed. Very well respected and collected potter who passed away in 2019. Marianne de Trey (1913 – 2016). Hugely influential potter awarded the CBE in 2006 (aged 93 yrs) primarily worked at Shinners Bridge pottery, Dartington. The vase is undamaged, without any chips, cracks or repairs. It consists of cobalt, copper red and green glaze decoration. The vase is marked inside the base ring but is not as clear as it should be though a T can be seen. The work is typical of Marianne de Trey and those who collect her work should recognise it.

Katherine Pleydell- Bouverie flame decorated incised decorated vase. Produced by a revered potter whose work is highly collectible. Impressed KPB mark as photographed. Undamaged and free from any chips, cracks or repairs. There is a small burst glaze bubble just below the rim and a firing crack inside the footring, both minor issues caused during firing. Crazing to glaze which is expected and not unusual. Looking at the photographs the actual colour of this piece in natural light is a light blue and not as dark as it appears. This mug measures 7 cm in diameter and stands 8 cm high. It has 5 small chips on its rim, no other damage. It has a clear impressed mark for Ursula Mommens (the UD mark for her maiden name Darwin).
