An exceptional studio pottery slipware charger by leading British slipware potter Doug Fitch. The charger has been very intensely wood fired and the background colour has taken on an almost metallic quality. Like the fire is contained within the glaze. Excellent condition, as new. Doug’s potter’s mark to the reverse. Dimensions (approximate): 33.5cm x 33.5cm x 4cm. I bought this from Doug at the York Ceramics Fair a few years ago and was delighted to own it. But things being as they are, some compromises are having to be made across my collection and it was either this or one of Doug’s (many) jugs. I couldn’t settle on one of the jugs and there isn’t currently space to have this charger on display so, with regret, here it is. Hopefully goes without saying, but the pot easel I have used to help take the photographs is not included in any sale. EXCEPTIONAL JAPANESE MASHIKO STYLE POTTERY SAKE BOTTLE VASE JOMAN ZOGAN STYLE. This piece shows exceptional form and craftsmanship along with very eye appealing glaze/surface. The surface of the oval spaces shows impressed lines similar to those achieved with the Joman Zogam technique perfected by legendary potter Tatsuzo Shimaoka. Possible made in Mashiko in my opinion. There is a narrow and very shallow flake to the outside of the base otherwise this piece is in excellent condition with no other damage. Here is an exceptional white slip decorated chocolate brown glazed studio pottery vase by Robert Sperry. I spent many years collecting this line of his work that he executed in the 1960’s. This wonderful vase measures 7.25″ tall x 6″ wide. It has a chocolate base glaze with white slip over decoration. It is clearly signed on the bottom. Excellent condition with no damage to mention what-so-ever. Pictures should tell the story. Exceptional Guido Gambone Ceramic Bird Vase. Signed Original Ceramic with the Donkey Logo. Bird is 10-1/2″ Long and Stands 8-7/8″. Excellent crackle glaze in blue and white. Condition: This original ceramic is in very good condition. The piece is free from major chips, cracks or repairs and has only some very minor wear – a small flake to the tip of the beak and some discoloration inside of the bowl from use.
