Gorgeous big one-of-a-kind Ephraim Faience Experimental “Irises” vase. Three applied delicate multi-petal irises in carmely brown and yellow ochre pour down the sides of a Teco green vase. Applied stems in dark green blend into an incised bouquet of striations. The effect is a watercolor in three dimensions. Approximately 8.5″ tall and 4″ wide at the base, but the piece balloons out to 5 in the form alone and then add the irises, too. One of the larger non-monumental Ephraim pieces we’ve handled. Shopmarks in the base include the Ephraim 2020 date stamp as well as the Ephraim 25th anniversary (2021) mark, the sculptor mark for Alek Schroeder, the glaze mark for Cedar Luckow, and of course the stylized “E” mark identifying this piece as a one-of-a-kind Experimental piece. This pot is fresh from Ephraim in May 2021 and is in pristine condition. Multiple oversize images so you can see this pot from every angle. This is the actual pot you will receive. Each flower and leaf is beautifully sculpted and stands away from the vase. The glaze appears to be a combination of leaf green and chestnut green.
