Striking mid-century French studio pottery vase in the manner of Vallauris. This is a sculptural free-form piece with a bold organic silhouette and pierced central form, very much in keeping with French studio ceramics of the 1950s-60s. The surface features a heavily textured, almost bark-like finish with layered earthy glazes in deep browns, greens and darker tones. The form is abstract and architectural, making it a strong decorative statement whether displayed alone or as part of a mid-century or brutalist interior. A highly tactile, visually interesting piece with real presence – ideal for collectors of Vallauris-style pottery or sculptural ceramics. Details. Height: approx. 25cm.
