A mesmerising mid-to-late 1920s French art pottery vase produced by the renowned Pierrefonds studio. Société Faïencière Héraldique de Pierrefonds. In the Oise region of France. This elegant, straight-sided cylindrical piece showcases a magnificent masterclass in crystalline glazing. The technical kiln cooling process forms completely unique, shimmering macro-crystalline starburst blooms inside the glass matrix. The piece transitions seamlessly from a speckled ochre-sand rim down into a vibrant gradient of deep amethyst purple and sky blue. Marks & Identification: The unglazed base ring is exceptionally well-preserved and features deep, sharp markings. The official “P” and “H” initials representing. Here we have a superb mid century studio pottery vase in the form of a girl. It is signed “Fanch” to the underside, I have been unable to find anything regarding the maker despite thorough research; but it seems Fanch is a French surname originating in Breton so it could be French in origin. The piece is very similar to some Swedish pottery I have seen by world renown ceramicist Lisa Larson. It has such an amazing design, the folk figure has pierced holes in her bouquet where you can place your own flower heads/stems. It could also be used as a candle holder at the top if you wished. The colours in the glaze are bright yet subtle but a nice contrast on the terracotta toned face. This has plenty of Scandi folk charm sure to bring a smile to your face. This would date to around the 1960’s and it. Measures approximately 7.75 inches tall by 4 inches weighing a little over 750g. Perfection for any Scandi inspired home.
