Vintage / Possibly Antique Chinese Style Hulu Double Gourd Vase – Orange & Green Drip Glaze Pottery A beautiful and unusual hulu-form double-gourd vase with a warm orange/brown glaze and green drip-glaze details running down the body. The shape is inspired by the traditional Chinese Hulu / Wu Lou gourd form, which is associated with good fortune, health, prosperity and positive meaning in Chinese culture. This is a very decorative piece with a lovely organic glaze pattern. The colouring is especially attractive, with earthy orange tones, green glaze runs and a soft aged surface. It would display beautifully as a standalone decorative vase, shelf piece, interior design item or collectible pottery piece. No obvious major cracks seen from the photos. A very attractive and unusual decorative piece.

Stunning Celadon Glazed Double Gourd 27cm Large Studio Pottery Vase. An absolutely stunning, good-sized celadon glazed double gourd studio pottery vase. A really beautiful vase with a mottled celadon glazed finish in excellent condition. Although the vase is very much Oriental in style it is likely this is British-made studio pottery dating to around the 1980’s. There are marks to the base that look very similar (but not quite the same) to those of 1990’s Belfast-based potter Twy Miller but the style of the vase doesn’t really fit with their usual work. Still, a really fantastic item and a very good size too at about 27.5cm high, 20cm wide and weighing almost 1.8kg. Hardwood stand not included. Please note, unusually I’ve had to use a filter on the pictures to accurately recreate the colour of the vase. The last two pictures are unfiltered but show the vase looking a paler, bluer colour. The true colour of the vase is a genuine celadon colour much closer to the first ten filtered pictures. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like further details or pictures. Stunning Studio Pottery Gourd Shaped Squat Vase – Signed. Beautiful studio pottery decorative vase in blues, greens and browns. Incised lines running vertically down the vessel give a lovely ripe feel to the piece, reminiscent of a pumpkin or swollen gourd. I can’t identify the maker’s signature which looks like possibly a C with a line down to form a T. It also has three raised dots around it and 2 short raised lines inside the dots.
