All five have been carefully checked and are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines found. As handmade studio pottery, there are natural variations in form, glaze, surface and finish from the original making process. Please see all photographs, including the bases and signatures. Description Wonderful graduated collection of five signed handmade studio pottery jugs/pitchers, dating from 2003. A particularly characterful group, with each jug individually formed but clearly belonging to the same body of work. They feature a beautiful pale blue/grey glaze with an iridescent, almost pearlescent finish, contrasted by blue edging and applied mauve/purple decorative details. Each has its own sculptural spout and wonderfully quirky curved handle, with subtle differences in shape and decoration across the set. The undersides retain the maker’s hand-incised signature together with’03, dating the pieces to 2003. The signature has not been positively identified, so no attribution to a particular potter is being made. The handmade nature is particularly evident on the exposed bases, throwing/forming marks, individually applied decoration and slight variations between the five pieces. Measurements: The collection is graduated in size. Individual measurements and weights have been taken and can be supplied/shown in the photographs. Condition: All five have been carefully inspected. No chips, cracks or hairlines have been found. Natural irregularities, glaze variations and making marks are present as expected with handmade studio pottery. A striking decorative collection that displays particularly well together and would suit a collector of British/contemporary studio ceramics or unusual art pottery. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
