Up for sale is a magnificent vintage Japanese Studio Art Pottery Vase featuring a striking dual-design concept. One half of the body exhibits a finely textured pale stoneware surface with crisp, hand-carved relief lines forming elegant orchid blossoms. The opposing side features a rich, multi-toned dark green glossy glaze with fluid, organic mottling. Height: Approximately 29.5 cm (11.6 inches). Narrow mouth opening ideal for minimalist floral arrangements or single-stem orchids. Status: Vintage, never used. Excellent collectible condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. Vintage 1970s Cornish Brutalist Wheel Thrown Studio Pottery Blue Green Hexagon Medallion Ceramic Vase. This striking, hand-crafted studio vase is a quintessential example of the post-war Cornish Brutalist pottery movement from the late 1960s to mid-1970s. While entirely unmarked, all physical characteristics point to this being an exceptionally rare, unsigned studio piece from the inner circle of Tremaen Pottery (Newlyn, Cornwall) or a closely affiliated mid-century Cornish contemporary like Eric Leaper. Early, large-scale, or experimental art pieces from these workshops were frequently left completely unsigned on their bases, originally relying solely on temporary paper labels. Authentic Artisan Craftsmanship & Features. Unlike mass-produced factory ceramics, the interior of this tube vase features distinct horizontal throwing rings from being manually pulled up on the potter’s wheel. It has a substantial, satisfyingly heavy, and solid weight. Measures 22.5cm x 8cm. Hand-Stamped Texturing, the midsection is adorned with prominent hand-impressed geometric hexagon “eye” medallions, framed by meticulous tool-stamped decorative borders around the neck and base. Classic Cornish Palette, the vase beautifully bridges raw texture and vivid color, using a dry, volcanic manganese-brown iron oxide background contrasted against hyper-glossy, melting pools of running cobalt blue and vibrant copper-green glazes. Raw Wire-Cut Base, the unglazed buff-colored base showcases distinct concentric wire-cut marks from being sliced off the wheel head, alongside hand-sponged rim wipes and a faint workshop underglaze pencil marking. Excellent vintage condition with no cracks, or restorations. There is one small glaze chip to the base edge. The glaze remains incredibly bright and the textures sharply defined. A magnificent, highly tactile collector’s piece that perfectly captures the rugged, sculptural energy of the mid-century Cornish coast.

A fine contemporary studio pottery porcelain vase by Emily Myers. Elegant tall ovoid form in a soft celadon/turquoise glaze with distinctive horizontal and diagonal linear decoration in darker tones. The surface has a subtle matt-to-satin quality typical of her barium glazes. The style is reminiscent of pieces created in 2015 and displayed on her website. Impressed potter’s mark to the base. Emily Myers is a Crafts Council selected maker and Fellow of the Craft Potters Association. She is known for her precise thrown and carved vessels in both porcelain and red stoneware. Of good scale compared to most commercially available, with larger porcelain pieces rare on the second hand market. Size – 23 cm Tall, 10.5 cm diameter at its widest point. Weight – 565 g. An impressive original West Germany 517-45 floor vase, produced during the golden era of West German art pottery by Scheurich Keramik. Standing approximately 45 cm tall, this substantial ceramic vase features a wonderfully organic drip glaze in deep olive green, ivory and warm ochre tones, making it an exceptional statement piece for Mid-Century Modern, Organic Modern, Scandinavian and Wabi-Sabi interiors. Its understated earth-tone palette feels remarkably contemporary while remaining an authentic piece of 1970s German ceramic design. A highly decorative display piece equally suited to dried botanicals or as a sculptural object in its own right. Weight: 4.296 kg. No cracks, chips or repairs observed. There are age-related surface marks and light scuffs to the darker lower section consistent with decades of careful use and storage. Vintage / Possibly Antique Chinese Style Hulu Double Gourd Vase – Orange & Green Drip Glaze Pottery A beautiful and unusual hulu-form double-gourd vase with a warm orange/brown glaze and green drip-glaze details running down the body. The shape is inspired by the traditional Chinese Hulu / Wu Lou gourd form, which is associated with good fortune, health, prosperity and positive meaning in Chinese culture. This is a very decorative piece with a lovely organic glaze pattern. The colouring is especially attractive, with earthy orange tones, green glaze runs and a soft aged surface. It would display beautifully as a standalone decorative vase, shelf piece, interior design item or collectible pottery piece. No obvious major cracks seen from the photos.
