Superb, understated Korean hakeme mizusashi. This was bought in Japanese and I do not know if it was made there or in Korea. The box is signed, but I don’t know the maker. 17 cms height by 21 cms width. In excellent undamaged condition.

A splendid large studio pottery Korean-style bottle vase by leading British potter Jim Malone. Hakeme brushed slip with combing and brushed blue cobalt decoration under a clear ash glaze. Lovely matt surface quality. Excellent condition, as new. Potter’s marks to the foot (Jim’s personal mark plus “A” for Ainstable). Dimensions (approximate): 36cm x 16cm x 16cm. A very strong example of Jim Malone’s Korean-influenced work. Impeccably well thrown and proportioned with great surface quality.
