This is an authentic hand-blown studio art glass vase crafted by British artist Siddy Langley, dated 2001. The vase has a small bulbous body that tapers up into a long, slender flared neck. The top half and neck feature a highly reflective metallic gold and blue-green iridescent lustre finish. The bottom half is decorated with horizontal swirling bands of cobalt blue and white over a pale aqua glass body. The bottom edge of the vase is hand-signed and dated by the artist, reading as Siddy Langley 2001. The base is designed with a stable, curved outer edge that allows it to stand securely. The center of the base features a recessed, unpolished pontil mark from the glassmaking process. Condition This is a pre-owned vintage item in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or deep scratches on the glass. The top rim is smooth and intact, and the indented base is clean and stable. Please inspect the photos to see the exact cosmetic condition and the details of the pattern.

This is a beautiful and unique mid-century Raku vase from an individual Western studio pottery. It is signed (as can be seen in the photos). Such wonderful glazing finishes were adopted from the original Japanese pottery craft dating back centuries. The incredible finished glaze is produced by a complicated second slip glazing technique. Every finished Raku piece is entirely unique.
