Isgard Wohlgemuth-Moje enamelled studio glass cylinder vase. Signed and dated’MOJE 1970. Lead glass coated with metal oxides. 10.7cm height, 8cm diameter. Excellent, no chips or cracks. She founded a glass workshop in Hamburg in the early 1960s with Klaus Moje whom she married. Her output included stained glass and items such as this decorated with metal salts dissolved in oil, applied with a brush and fired at extremely high temperatures. The process of repeated to add additional layers of colour and depth. This same method was also used to produce jewellery. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971. My career took a leap forward when I joined Bonhams in 1976. Some five years later I became head of the Decorative Arts department.
