Vintage John Bedding Studio Pottery Vase – Impressed JB Mark – Turquoise Globe Form – St Ives / Gaolyard Studios Beautiful hand-thrown British studio pottery vase, attributed to John Bedding b. 1947, associated with Gaolyard Studios and the St Ives pottery tradition in Cornwall. This substantial globular / bulbous vase features a rich, vibrant turquoise glaze with a highly textured, bubbly, and crazed surface effect – complete with attractive speckling, iron staining, and organic variations typical of studio reduction firing. The thick, lustrous glaze runs and pools beautifully, giving it a wonderful tactile quality and visual depth. Simple rolled rim and rounded base. Minor expected crazing and surface variations consistent with the firing process and age – adds to its handmade charm. A characterful and collectible piece of post-war British studio pottery.
