About the Potter Born in 1939 at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, John Leach was the eldest grandson of legendary potter Bernard Leach. After helping establish a pottery in California, John founded Muchelney Pottery in 1965, where he developed a distinctive style inspired by the Somerset landscape and a commitment to sustainability. ? John Beusman Carn Pottery Picture Box Chimney Stack Vase Studio Pottery, Cornwall, VGC. In very good condition – first quality with no chips, cracks or crazing. A John Beusman Carn Pottery Picture chimney stack mine Vase, beautifully crafted studio pottery piece made in Cornwall. This decorative vase features abstract sgraffito pattern designs all around, and a circular blue geometric on the other. Handmade with a matte finish, this ceramic vase is a unique vintage addition to any home decor or Carn collection. Please see photos for condition and detailing. It is in an excellent vintage condition, although the makers stamp has faded, it’s unmistakably Beusmans’ work. Measures 14.5 cm in height by 10.5 cm in width be 4 cm deep. A Brilliant John Pollex Studio Pottery Sculptural Vase with Matte Glaze. A very rare piece produced by John Pollex. Very possibly drawn on influence from time working as assistant to his mentor Colin Pearson. The pot is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. May show slight signs of but minimal wear to the base. Please see images which make up part of the description. Apx 24cm in height. John Pollex studied at Sir John Cass in Whitechapel from 1966-68; he went on to become Technician at Harrow College of Art during 1968-70. After Harrow he became assistant to Bryan Newman and Colin Pearson until 1971. He moved to Plymouth in the autumn of 1971 establishing a studio and gallery in the historic Barbican area. In 2000 he moved his studio to his house from where currently works.

RARE Vintage Carn pottery red spot chimney vase of the 1970s era, the vase as a geometric design with a matte greyish green ground with flashes of blue, with a large glazed red spot adorning the front area. The vase stands 13cm. The base as the Carn pottery printed mark. And the signature of John Beusman founder of the pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. It as been brought to my attention regard my interpretation of crazing, regard the red spot on the the photos it looks as though the red spot as crazing but it my opinion that is the the way the decorative red spot area is supposed to be, as the crackled effect is within the glaze.
