Magnificent 24cm Poole Pottery Ginger Jar SK Design Hand Painted In Stylised Flower Traditional Ware Design By Karen Brown. Very Good Condition No Chips No Cracks No Crazing No Repairs. Height: 24cm Max Width: 19cm Top Diameter: 9.5cm Base Diameter: 12cm. Back Impressed: “POOLE POTTERY ENGLAND” Dolphin Hand Annotated “K BROWN SK” Artist’s Monogram For Karen Brown c. 1990s-2005 Lid: Hand Inscribed “SK” & Monogram. Poole Pottery was founded in 1873 in Poole Quayside in Dorset. The business continued to produce unique and ground breaking pottery including amongst others the “Delphis” range which was launched 1963. The Poole factory moved away from the quay in 1999 – significantly with Master Potter Alan White throwing the final pot at the Quayside March 2001, ending 128 years of pottery production there. Production continued at the new site in Sopers Lane Poole until its’ closure in 2006. Many gifted artists and ceramic designers have been associated with Poole Pottery over its’ 128 years including Alan White who joined in 1973 and Anita Harris who for over 10 years from the 1990s was a Senior Designer and Decorator. In 2011, Poole Pottery was taken over once again, by Denby Pottery and currently a shop and studio have been kept as popular attractions on the Poole Quayside where Master Potter Alan White can still be seen demonstrating. Several designers and ceramic artists at the site help design new collections available direct from the Studio website.

This is a very nice set of 6 Karen Harrison studio pottery mugs/cups. They are in good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or crackle to the glaze. Each cup measures approximately 4 tall. A really nice big Karen Karnes vase, measuring roughly 11″ x 11″. Lots of creative twists went into this, like the slightly flattened panels on two sides of the neck, and the triangular glaze spot on the underside, and the incredible finger tooled ridges. Signed with her KK mark, and there’s an old applied piece of cork adhered to the bottom. This piece has been well cared for over the years. Will require a slightly oversized box. Vintage, Mid-Century Modern, Eames Era, Studio Pottery, Craft Movement, lidded pot / bowl / vase, designed and thrown by studio pottery master Karen Karnes. SIGNED WITH INITIALS ON BOTTOM EDGE : KK, and marked flameproof (see image). SIZE: 8 1/2 tall; 11 diameter at widest. No damage, repairs, chips or cracks. There is some slight staining on underside that I have not tried to remove (see image). Very nice, very presentable and ready for use. Please be patient with difficult to package items.
