Ben Kypridakis Australian Studio Pottery, Spherical Lustre Vase. Measures 20cm tall x 18cm diameter. An outstanding example of Ben’s elegant porcelain vessels with bold flowing brushwork in reflective lustre glazes, producing in this piece a marble-like effect. Made while Ben was teaching at the North Adelaide School of Art. In perfect condition, no chips or scratches or scrapes. Ben Kypridakis (1932-) was born in Sacramento, California. After military service in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958, he enrolled at CSU Sacramento, where he studied Art including ceramics. He furthered his studies in ceramics at the University of Iowa where he received his M. Ben has experimented with luster glazes and the vessel form for several decades. He has exhibited across the USA and Australia and his work is held in public and private collections.
