Tall raku ware vessel by Stephen Murfitt with an elliptical form, textured surface and blue glaze. 17cms tall x 8/10cms wide. The vessel is a one off, unique, hand built work. Stephen Murfitt, born in 1953, lives and works in the Fens. His work is held in both public and private collections. I became addicted to Raku because of the direct involvement with each stage of the process. The pots absorb and often reflect the intense drama of the firing. There is a tiny nick on the rim, see last photo.
