Red Wing Pottery Nokomis Vase Shape 196. Arts and Crafts era vase. Vase is 10 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide at mid section. In excellent condition no chips or cracks. Top opening flares to 4 1/4. Base beneath the stylish 6″ bulge is 4 1/2″. It is stamped on the underside with the circular blue-glaze seal “Red Wing Pottery”. This vase is from Pennsylvania and is in beautiful condition – no damage of any kind. The vase is original condition and not washed, so a bit of dust on interior. The glaze was described by the company as “a metallic finish in gray and tan with a tint of copper”. Serious collectors today agree that all 18 classic shapes decorated in this impressionistic hand-glaze were marketed ahead of their time. Nokomis vessels are found in matte, semi-matte, and glossy surface finishes.
