Here we have a lovely 22.5cm vase by Anita Harris Studio Pottery. Hand made and hand painted with a deep forest green background upon which are blue and green vines with grapes outlined in gold gilding. Signed in gold to the base by Anita Harris. The business continued to produce unique and ground breaking pottery including amongst others the “Delphis” range which was launched 1963. The Poole factory moved away from the quay in 1999 – significantly with Master Potter Alan White throwing the final pot at the Quayside March 2001, ending 128 years of pottery production there. Production continued at the new site in Sopers Lane Poole until its’ closure in 2006. Vintage Hand-Painted Studio Pottery Vase from Mallorca (Felanitx, Spain). A striking vintage ceramic bottle vase featuring a bold geometric design in mustard yellow and deep green with hand-painted black grid lines over a white glaze. The tall cylindrical form and abstract decoration give the piece a distinctive modernist / mid-century inspired aesthetic. The base is hand-marked C. Mallorca – Felanitx”, with an additional decorator’s signature and the mark “XX. Felanitx, on the island of Mallorca, Spain, has been a historic centre of pottery production for centuries, with many small workshops producing hand-thrown and hand-decorated ceramics. This piece is an example of Mallorcan studio pottery, most likely dating from the 1970s-1980s, when modernist decorative ceramics became popular and craft workshops supplied galleries and art shops across Mallorca. The combination of a tall bottle form, graphic geometric decoration, and hand-painted finish makes this a very attractive vase today, particularly for mid-century modern or contemporary interiors. Vintage Mallorca studio pottery. Mallorca – Felanitx on the base. Additional handwritten decorator signature and “XX” mark. Hand-thrown ceramic form. Hand-painted geometric decoration. Felanitx in Mallorca has long been one of the island’s principal pottery towns. Many small studios produced decorative ceramics during the mid-to-late 20th century, often marking pieces simply with Mallorca and Felanitx together with a decorator’s signature. The base mark, hand-painted decoration and studio pottery characteristics suggest this vase was produced in one of these regional workshops rather than a large factory, making it an authentic example of Mediterranean studio craft pottery. A decorative studio pottery vase produced by Old Ellgreave Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent, England, and hand signed by Lorna Bailey. The vase features a charming stylised landscape decoration with house and tree motifs rendered in bold black outlines with warm orange, red and yellow tones. The form includes sculptural pierced detailing along the sides, giving the piece a distinctive presence.
