Fantastic and a very early pebble vase, it’s a transitional piece, it has a not often seen slip glaze pattern, with a small piece missing but this is common with this early technique, and pieced accordingly. Beautiful early work by him signed with a W on base. UPDATED I ONLY HAVE ONE FOR SALE. Not 16 like it’s saying for some reason???

This is an absolutely stunning vintage brutalist style vase in a pebble shape. It’s a large piece stunningly, beautiful and studio made. This verse has a distinct, the look of the Tremaen pottery studios, but isn’t marked so unsure of its origin. This vase has been well looked after, and is ready for a new home. This vase is made up of chocolate, brown tones, a lighter darks tone tone, and finally overlaid with Lightstone, small pebbles shapes- stunning! This beautiful creation can also double up as a night light with battery controlled lights- I’ll shown. This really emphasises the beauty of this piece. The height of the vase is 10. The width of the vase is 9. The depth of the vase is 4. The weight of the vase is 2.2kg.

Unknown Maker Stoneware striped pebble vase – artistically produced in the manner of Shelia & Robert Fournier. There are no marks on the piece that I can find but it is likely that someone may recognise the style and in my opinion get a bargain as it is class. You must make up your own mind. The piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. I have increased my asking price because I believe it is by the Fourniers but without a mark that is hard to prove.

Split seed form studio pottery stoneware with rubbed glaze. A beautiful, intimate, tactile and very fine example of the remarkable work produced by the much renowned Alan Wallwork. Flattened oviform shape, mottled grey and sand running glaze to a heavy pitted and textured surface with a split aperture. AW incised to the underside. Signed AW (probably from the Abbotsford Studio). A special example of’Seed Pod’ – biscuit fired stoneware’split form’ Vase with rubbed glaze, from one of the country’s most famous potters. Recognised AW signature incised to the the base.. Glazed in his usual buff with hints of blue. In excellent condition with no damage or restoration. 20 cms – 8 high. 17 cms – 6.3/4 wide. 6 cms – 2.1/4 thick. Pictures are of the actual piece. Carefully packaged, double boxed. Happy to arrange a courier or use your own. Dear Chris & Wendy, I’d say that was most likely that your dad bought the pot in Lyme Regis. He offered to sell Alan’s work, so this was his local outlet. When was it made? I’ve seen similar style pots, which were from the early 90’s. Al would make a small batch (3 / 5 or 7 usually) and each would have similarities and differences in surface modelling and colouration. Thanks for allowing me use of your pictures. Any chance of supplying a few more of the pot standing upright would be most appreciated. Preferably with a plain white background or’natural’ setting (garden greenery). Well, all the Best, hope the info was of some interest. My favourite studio potter. Alan’s pots are’special’, a textural and visual delight. For over fifty years Alan made a great variety of 20th century functional forms, from three inch to three foot tall, all hand built, mainly using stoneware and porcelain, every pot having it’s own unique characteristics. Time worn”organic’ and’relic’ forms with surfaces that really look ancient in appearance.
