For sale is a charming collection of three (3) vintage Welsh Red Dragon figurines by the renowned Doniau Cudd studio in Bangor, North Wales. These are genuine studio art pottery pieces, not modern reproductions. The “Hidden Talents” of Wales: Produced in the 1980s, these dragons feature the studio’s signature deep red Flambé glaze. Each dragon is hand-finished, giving them unique expressions and slight variations in posture that prove their studio origin. I cannot see any significant damage although the top of one ear may have a tiny nick but its hard to tell.

A striking and highly decorative mid-century studio pottery jug vase with a wonderfully textured lava glaze finish. Standing an impressive 32cm tall, this is a substantial piece of studio ceramic art, featuring a heavily textured cratered surface in muted tones of charcoal, stone grey, flashes of blue and moss green. The sculptural form, with its angular shoulders and robust loop handle, gives the piece a distinctly Brutalist feel, whilst the richly tactile glaze creates endless visual interest from every angle. Adding an unexpected splash of colour, the interior is finished in a beautiful turquoise glaze which contrasts perfectly with the rugged exterior surface. Whether displayed as a standalone decorative object, incorporated into a collection of studio ceramics or used to hold architectural dried stems, this is a piece that makes a real statement.
