1990 VINTAGE SET X3 RAISED SLIP JUGS BY EH WILLIAMS CYNWYD STUDIO POTTERY WALES. STUNNING GRADUATED SET OF HANDMADE CREAM / MILK / WATER JUGS BY CYNWYD POTTERY. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL POTS AND WELL CONCEIVED APPLICATION OF THE FLORAL DESIGN. GORGEOUS STYLISED RAISED SLIP FLOWERS IN BLUE / WHITE, WITH GREEN PAINTED LEAVES ONTO A CREAM GLAZE. THE INTERIOR AND RIM ARE A CHOCOLATE BROWN WHICH VERY CLEVERLY FLOWS ONTO THE HANDLE. THE LARGE JUG HAS A FLOWER APPLIED AT THIS POINT. SMALL JUG: HEIGHT 9 cm. MIDDLE JUG: HEIGHT: 12.5 cm. Beautiful vase from the important early 20th Century Arequipa pottery. Located at a sanitarium in Marin, California, pottery was produced from 1911 to 1918 under the supervision of some of the most renowned potters in American history, including Francis Hurten Rhead and Albert Solon. This vase flares elegantly to the shoulder, and then slopes in to a slightly raised rim. The shoulder is carved with leaves and berries. The glaze is very subtle, with shades of grey/blue over tones of olive/copper, whidh shows through mostly at the edges of the carved leaves. Clearly marked with the impressed Arequipa California mark, along with impressed numbers. One tight hairline at the rim, slighly over 1 long, with two associated pinhead nicks.
