A stoneware slab built vase with slopping shoulders on four small raised feet with a turned mouth. H 10.75 inch, W 8.775 inch, D 3.25 inch Salt and ash glaze finish in perfect condition and clearly signed. This is from the same firing as one shown, on the opening page, opposite the title page of Phil Rogers seminal work, Salt Glazing. I can only assume that as he placed the pot from this firing first in his book he rated it.

This beautifully elegant Jane Hamlyn teapot is as good as the day it was finished. It stands 18cmH with the teapot itself standing 10.5cm tall (excl lid) and a base diameter also of 10.5cm. It is signed on the back JH. It is in her well known, typical style using simple, elegant form and subtle, natural salt glaze, featuring incised decoration and a distinctive loop handle. Her pieces are highly regarded for their craftsmanship and usability.
