This is a substantial studio pottery Textured Segment by Alan Wallwork. Length: 12 inches; Height: 8 inches; Width across the bottom: 6.5 inches. One of Wallworks iconic forms, this one is one of the most finely textured examples I have seen. Blue glaze bubbles can be seen in a number of the piercings. At the time, this was the second most expensive piece in the exhibition, so it was clear that Wallwork and the dealer felt it was a stellar example. Marked with Wallwork’s “AW” mark on the bottom. Those of you who familiar with Wallwork know how special these pieces are. Ones of this size and quality are becoming harder to find. This could easily be the anchor for a Wallwork collection. Please take all of this into account when considering your offer. His organic forms are instantly recognizable.
