Alan wallwork large slab vase 11in x3.5 in x2.5 in. Seems a bit uneven around base, but looking at other examples, i think its part of the original production technique, see photos for condition.

This high-quality studio piece features a distinct potter’s hanko (chop mark) near the base, denoting expert craftsmanship and artisanal origins. Finished in a sophisticated mottled ash and iron-oxide glaze, the tray possesses a beautiful organic patina and a heavy, “well-poured” feel typical of fine mid-century style stoneware. Versatile Display Uses: Suiseki: Perfect for displaying viewing stones in sand or to create a miniature landscape. Ikebana: An ideal basin for Moribana style flower arrangements using a kenzan (frog). Home Decor: Its minimalist, brutalist aesthetic makes it a stunning standalone tray for candles or as a high-end catch-all. Condition: In good vintage condition. Title – A Studio Pottery Slab Vase With Impressed Decoration. A lovely studio pottery rectangular slab vase decorated with to a Brick and plant theme in relief to the full height. A couple of very small bumps to the base and edges – see photographs. This piece is unmarked. Where possible, we always try to combine multiple items, if safe to do so. Wonderful sculptural flat slab built vase vessel made with interesting surface pattern (looks like it has been made using layers of stretched coloured clay, in the style of Ben Arnup). Sourced in the North of England. Signed TW and numbered I think B4T. 20cms tall, 24cms wide, 7cms deep approx. The clay is about 6mm thick. Asymmetric shape and base.
