An attractive late 20th-century studio pottery vase, wheel-thrown in stoneware and finished with contrasting earthy glazes. The compact shouldered form is divided into two distinct decorative treatments: a warm chestnut-brown glaze with freely brushed darker markings and a textured ochre glaze densely speckled with brown. The irregular transition between the two glazes gives the vase a particularly appealing handmade quality.

Vintage circa 1966-70 studio pottery yunomi tea cup is hand thrown by Peter Lane in stoneware with a lovely rustic Japanese traditional undulating tapered form, and hand worked sgraffito decoration to the front and back, with a note worthy oval pinched shape at the rim, presumably to enhance the feng shui tea drinking experience. It dates from the early period at Cringleford in Norwich, Norfolk and it is in very good condition (please see photos). Height 10 cm, 4 inches. Please message us should you have any questions.
