We are a Greek/English family-run business established in the UK in 2011. Since then we have built up a large collection of unique items, hand-picked from private collectors sales. Our choice of items is based on quality, craftsmanship, cultural interest and beauty. We research every single item and aim to provide as much information as possible about its history and provenance. We have been packing and sending items abroad for many years and have successfully delivered even the most fragile pieces including Venetian mirrors, carved chairs and arabesque tables. This Listing is for. A very unusual piece of studio pottery with a face on each of its four sides with a different expression. 24 cm high, base: 9.5 x 9.5 cm. Top corners: 15 x 15 cm. It has a damaged corner that has been repaired. Please study all photos. Provenance: UK private collection. In the summer of 2013 our shop featured in the BBC series Antiques Road Trip; we have also worked with prop-masters and costume designers in the film industry, supplying jewellery and antiques for productions such as Mr Holmes (with Ian Mckellan), Viceroy’s House (directed by Gurinder Chadha), the upcoming Disney production Maleficient II, and the TV series Downton Abbey.

Vintage circa 1966-70 studio pottery yunomi tea cup is hand thrown by Peter Lane in stoneware with a lovely rustic Japanese traditional undulating tapered form, and hand worked sgraffito decoration to the front and back, with a note worthy oval pinched shape at the rim, presumably to enhance the feng shui tea drinking experience. It dates from the early period at Cringleford in Norwich, Norfolk and it is in very good condition (please see photos). Height 10 cm, 4 inches. Please message us should you have any questions.
