These three rectangular vases are really nice examples of Louis’s early work made in Porthleven, Cornwall, after he had left Alan Wallwork in London. Each is made from coils and the biggest is over 6 (15cm) tall. One is inscribed Lh with the other two bearing his impressed mark. None have any damage or repairs.

There are many who fell Chris’ work surpassed that of de Waal and he id now very highly esteemed and his work sought after by ceramics collectors. Three exquisite Limoges porcelain beakers in fine condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. The exterior is of dark gloss tenmoku glaze and the interior a superb limpid green celadon. On the side of each beaker there is a raised moulded crescent detail. They are each c 10.5cms in height.
