A substantial and impressive vase by Robert Barron of the Gooseneck Pottery, Kardella, Victoria. Woodfired, the lovely contrasting glazes have been allowed to run freely creating a large and arresting piece. Size: 25 cm high, 23 cm diam; weight 2Kg. Condition: Very good vintage condition, age-related crazing but no cracks, chips. More Australian pottery which I have for sale. Please examine the pictures, they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. This is a vase in the Japanese style of wood-firing for several days in an anagama kiln, created by Wisconsin ceramic artist and educator Mike Weber. Mike Weber has been wood-firing for over forty years in his anagama kiln located at his forest studio in northern Wisconsin. He retired from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire after teaching ceramics for twenty-one years. Weber has exhibited his work throughout the United States and in Spain and Japan. This piece features salmon and jade green tones, along with the earth tones that shine through in this technique of stoneware, known as shino. Shino glazing produces incredible textures and colors, and alongside the natural-forming ash glaze, this vase is a one-of-a-kind addition to your home. The vase measures 9.25 inches tall, and the diameter of the mouth is roughly 4 inches wide. The diameter at the base is 4.25 inches.
