Beautifully stunning artistry and skill combine in the works of Bill Clark of Clark House Pottery. This is a perfect example of the technical skill in high fire porcelain that is thrown paper-thin on a potters wheel, then seemingly impossibly folded and twisted, manipulated while the clay body is still wet. Clark House Pottery’s “Ohrigami” works is named after the revolutionary pottery named George Ohr of Biloxi, Mississippi who in the late 1800s created wildly impossible twisted, altered clay forms. At the time, people were used to more refined European ceramics so his visionary creations were largely overlooked, but when scholars almost a century later saw the amazing talent of a potter who was decades if not a century before his time. This is a great example of Clark House Pottery that emulates the work of George Ohr, down to the design, execution and wonderful gunmetal gray glaze. It is in absolute pristine, original condition. No damage, no apologies whatsoever! Please see all photos as they are an integral part of the item description. Measures approximately 8 1/4 tall and stamped on the bottom with the Clark House Pottery cipher, signed by hand Bill Clark, and 15 for production in 2015.
