Toyoharu Ichino Studio Pottery Tenmoku Glaze Vase or Brush Pot Japanese (C3)
Here is a wonderful studio pottery vase or brush pot by known Japanese potter, Toyoharu Ichino. This vase measures 6″ tall x 4 1/2″ at its widest. It has a thick tenmoku rust brown spontaneous grasses motif on one side. It is in excellent, original condition with no chips, cracks, or glaze scratching. It is clearly incised “Ichino” on the bottom and has its original exhibition sticker. This piece was out of the former prestigious collection of Howard and Gwen Laurie Smits. Many pieces of the Smits collection are pictured in the book “Color and Fire”. Pictures should tell the story. This is a consigned piece so prices are firm.
