Burslem Pottery Andrew Hull Grotesque Bird Court Room Defender Decanter Or Flask
This wonderful high quality handmade stoneware decanter or flask is from Burslem Pottery’s tremendous Court Room Collection, featuring stunning grotesque bird designs by Andrew Hull that are inspired by the Martin Brother’s “Wally Birds”. This particular Defender is quite a rarity, an early piece made at the Heron Cross studio in 2007, it is signed by Andrew Hull and was painted by Tracy Bentley in a trial colourway. These figures are hand crafted pieces of art decorated in a variety of matt and glossy glazes that give them a very tactile textured finish. It is a nice size, 10.5″ (27cm) high with a 4.5″ (11cm) square base. You can see this vase together with lots more stunning unique Studio Pottery on my website, look for.
