Pieter Groeneveldt vase 1960s Dutch studio pottery blue fat lava brutalist

This is a fantastic chunky handthrown studio pottery vase by Pieter Groeneveldt, Voorschoten, Netherlands circa 1950s-60s. Wonderful handthrown form, inspired by Chinese and Japanese pottery, bold and geometric, architectural and modernist. With a characteristic dark blue and black bubbly crusty lava glaze typical of Groeneveldt’s style. Would make a stunning addition to any collection of Groeneveldt, Dutch, studio or fine art pottery, and would complement any retro, vintage, modernist, 1950s, 60s, midcentury, Danish Modern, Eames era, brutalist or contemporary interior. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks, some inconsistencies. Measures 18 x 8 x 8cm / 7.25 x 3.25 x 3.25in. Marked to the base,’AI’ with the’made in Holland’ stamp found on Groeneveldt pottery.
