Matajiro was the master of the historic Kichuyo kiln in Kamakura, which carries the artistic legacy of the legendary multi-disciplinary artist and gourmet Kitaoji Rosanjin. Type: Yohen Chomon Tsubo – Incised Geometric Pattern Vase with Natural Yohen (Kiln-Mutation) Ash Glaze. Markings: Hand-signed by the artist on the base (incised mark). The original wooden box (Tomobako) is fully signed, titled, and bears the artist’s official red seal. 20 cm in height (please see gallery images for exact measurements). No chips, cracks, or restorations. The surface features a stunning, tactile glaze with natural kiln characteristics typical of professional Kamakura stoneware. Comes complete with its original signed Japanese wooden presentation box (Tomobako) and traditional tying ribbon.
