Rare Door Pottery Kendrick Vase Grueby Style by Scott Draves 2007 Discontinued
Absolutely beautiful and rare “Kendrick” vase by Scott Draves of Door Pottery done in the same way Grueby Pottery created their fabulous masterpieces of the Arts and Crafts movement. First the body is raised on a potters wheel, then each leaf is skillfully sculpted then applied to the body, creating a wonderful vase that can pair with any decor, from antique to contemporary. This fine example of the form is glazed in Door Pottery’s unique and beautiful – almost waxy – semi matte glaze called Maple Yellow. This glaze is very similar to Ephraim Faience Pottery’s glazing. This iconic shape has been discontinued since 2013 and is no longer being made at Door Pottery. This is your rare chance to own such a rare and beautiful example of Door Pottery. Measures approximately 10 3/4 tall and weighs a hefty 5 pounds, 9 ounces! Excellent, original mint condition with zero apologies. NO damage, no repairs and no restorations. Single owner since it was first acquired in 2007. Stamped on the bottom with artist Scott Draves’ cipher and the Door Pottery mark for 2007. Please review all photos as they are an integral part of the item description. Any white spots are camera glare and not damage whatsoever.
