Suzuki Goro Japanese studio pottery early shigaraki style vase, boxed
A very fine and dramatic studio pottery vase by leading Japanese potter Suzuki Goro. A relatively early piece, wood fired in the shigaraki manner. Dramatic variation in surface texture and colour, it’s quite something. Excellent condition, as new. Felt pads to the feet to prevent scratching the surface could no doubt be removed if wished. With the original signed Japanese storage box. Dimensions (approximate): 20cm x 13cm x 13cm. A very good example, showcases just what a long firing in a wood fired kiln can do.
