BURSLEM POTTERY SPODE WORKS 25cm STONEWARE VASE INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE ONE OFF
This wonderful high quality handmade stoneware vase is from Burslem Pottery’s tremendous Industrial Heritage range, featuring designs influenced by the heritage of the industrial age, especially around The Potteries towns of Stoke on Trent, Fenton, Longton, Hanley, Tunstall and of course Burslem – local landmarks and themes all feature heavily in the range. Like all of their vases, it is a hand crafted piece of art by Steve Shaw and Tracy Bentley, every piece being slightly different – the design is hand drawn, carved in the sgrafitto style, then painted in a variety of matt and glossy glazes that give them a very tactile textured finish. The “Spode Works” pattern was designed by Steve Shaw in 2015, this is not one of their regularly produced pieces, it is a unique one off that we commissioned. It is a nice size, 10″ (25cm) high, 5.25″ (13.5cm) diameter at the widest point and the rim is 3.75 (9.5cm) diameter.
