Monumental 56cm Blandine Anderson Studio Pottery Hare & Snail Sculpture. A very large, stunning stoneware sculpture by the renowned artist Blandine Anderson. Modelled with a hare sat on top of a giant snail, set on a rectangular base incised with branches, insects and applied small smalls. Blandine Anderson finds inspiration for her work in the landscape of her immediate surroundings in North Devon. She combines different forms of wildlife with environment in sensitive and delightful ways. She works at differing scales in stoneware and porcelain, to allow her sculpture to capture both the broad sweep of ploughed fields and the minutiae of the hedgerows. Very large – Measures approx. Impressed maker’s seal to side of base. Has had a small professional repair to one of the snail’s antennae, hence price. These size pieces if you can find one!
