A Unique Studio Pottery Cylinder Vase By Claes Thell, Stoneware, Sweden. Drip
A lovely example of a stoneware cylinder vase / brush pot by Claes Thell, Sweden, decorated to an abstract drip design. Signed and labelled to the base. Overall very good with no chips or cracks evident. Born in Väsby outside Höganäs, Thell started working with ceramics and experimenting with different glazes at the age of 15. After completing his schooling, he worked for three years at Höganäsbolaget’s Metallurgical Laboratory where he gained a basic knowledge in glaze technology. Subsequently, he established his own pottery workshop in Ödakkra. Height – 13.5cm. Diameter of the mouth – 8.7cm. Width of the base – 8.7cm. Where possible, we always try to combine multiple items, if safe to do so. We do use recycled packaging on occasion, boxes and bubble-wrap for example. Please contact me if you have any questions.
