ROBERT FOURNIERSTUDIO POTTERYSTONEWAREUNCOMMONPEBBLE POT/VASECIRC1970, steg
Studio pottery, Oxidised, Stoneware, Uncommon. In 1971 Robert & Shiela opened Lacock Pottery. It was there, Robert Fournier consolidated his ceramics, producing what became his signature pieces; a range of “pebble” pots that were based on natural forms. With a sure understanding of the organic structures of stones, rocks and plants, he translated these into clay through the use of simple, hand-built. These were decorated with areas of unglazed clay, poured, textured white glaze and dotted with small craters. This is a typical, darkly brooding piece bearing all the hallmarks of Roberts handiwork. The aspect of oxidised, pitted stoneware, with the silicone carbide, volcanic white veins; was considered to be the main attraction. Size, 10.5cms high, 10.5cms wide, 5cms deep. Impressed seal to the base. I have a large stock of 20. You can contact me by using ebays. I try to deliver nothing short of a 5 service.
